Manica Diamonds FC are set to appoint Saul Chaminuka as head coach following a string of poor performances in the ongoing Premier Soccer League campaign.
NewZimbabwe.com understands that the Mutare-based outfit has already engaged Chaminuka, who is currently unattached, as the club seeks to turn around its fortunes.
The Gem Boys have endured a dismal start to the season, failing to register a single win in their opening four league matches. They are yet to score a goal and currently sit at the bottom of the table with zero points, marking their worst start in Premier Soccer League history.
If the deal is finalised, current head coach Tafadzwa Mashiri is expected to remain at the club in a restructured role as assistant coach under Chaminuka.
The club’s struggles on the pitch have been compounded by off-field challenges with sources indicating that players have gone for three months without receiving salaries, with many still owed their signing-on fees.
The team has also been forced to relocate from Mutare to Triangle, where they are now using Gibbo Stadium as their home ground following the closure of Sakubva Stadium.
