MAPLE Ridge RCMP are currently on scene for a serious motor vehicle incident.
On Monday, September 28, at approximately 1 p.m., police responded to a report of a motor vehicle incident involving a cyclist in the 22800-block of Lougheed Highway.
Officers on scene learned that an adult male cyclist collided with a flat deck truck in the area.
The cyclist was taken to hospital in critical condition. The driver of the truck remained on scene and is cooperating with police.
Traffic has been re-routed in the area and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called out.
The investigation is ongoing.
No further information is available at this time, police said.
