*Megan Thee Stallion will wrap up her time on Broadway sooner than expected, confirming that her final appearance in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” is set for May 1.
The performer had originally committed to the role through mid-May, making the announcement a notable shift in the production’s schedule, according to Deadline. Taking on the role of impresario Zidler at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, the Grammy-winning artist marked a major milestone with her stage debut. Her involvement began on March 24 as part of a limited eight-week engagement that quickly drew attention from both fans and theatergoers.
In a statement addressing her departure, she shared: “Unfortunately, my last performance on Moulin Rouge! The Musical will be May 1.”

She continued, “It’s been such an honor to be part of Moulin Rouge and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theater! Y’all work so hard and I have so much respect for the dedication, the stamina, the work ethic, the time and the effort y’all put into the work! Every single person at the Moulin Rouge has inspired me to go harder as an entertainer.”
The hip-hop star added, “I’m so grateful for the cast and crew that made this experience so meaningful. Y’all are really some of the kindest human beings I’ve ever met! To all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey!”
Megan did not provide a reason for the departure. Despite the early exit, her presence significantly boosted ticket sales, pushing weekly grosses past $1 million and reaching over $1.6 million in mid-April. Producers are expected to name a replacement soon, while the show continues its extended run through August 30.
