The opening day of the 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Ball Games 1 kicked off on Thursday, 30th April hosted by Seroma Christian High School, Mukono.
Netball U-17 competition is among the menu of events at this annual championship.
Game day one witnessed St Mary’s Kitende hit St Francis Busunju 37-05.
Mariam High School lost 04-29 to Mubende Light as Madina Islamic overcame St Kizito 33-06.
Mpigi zone representatives Bulo Parents smiled past Iganga SS 31-05 whilst the contest between JORI and West Nile region’s Ediofe Girls Secondary School ended 23 goals apiece.
Day two action continues on Friday, 1st May 2026 in the morning before the tournament’s official opening ceremony in the afternoon.
Besides Netball U-17, The other sports disciplines involved include the signature pillar Girls’ football, Hockey, Rugby (15’s), Volleyball (U-17), Table Tennis, Badminton.
The capacity building sessions for young referees is also running concurrently.
