Official: PSL announce 2025/26 award nominations

The PSL has officially begun unveiling the nominees for the 2025/26 PSL Awards, with the first batch recognising standout performers from the Motsepe Foundation Championship and the DStv Diski Challenge.

While a handful of categories now have their finalists, supporters are still waiting for the nominations in most of the major PSL awards. Those include the prestigious Betway Premiership‘s Footballer of the Season, Coach of the Season, and Players’ Player of the Season honours.

FIRST PSL NOMINEES CONFIRMED

The PSL has confirmed the first nominees for the 2025/26 PSL Awards, with recognition going to standout performers in the Motsepe Foundation Championship and the DStv Diski Challenge.

Motsepe Foundation Championship Young Player of the Season

• Emile Witbooi (Cape Town City)
• Cayden Fortune (Cape Town City)

Motsepe Foundation Championship Goalkeeper of the Season

• Malcolm Jacobs (Venda FC)
• Siphamandla Hleza (Milford FC)
• Mickey van der Hart (Cape Town City)

DStv Diski Challenge Player of the Season

Bennet Mokoena (Mamelodi Sundowns)

Lebo Mohlala (Orlando Pirates)

The remaining PSL nominees are expected to be announced over the coming hours. Once all the finalists have been confirmed, attention will turn to the 2025/26 PSL Awards, where South African football’s top performers will be recognised for their achievements during the season.
