A 32-year-old man died after the vehicle he was travelling in veered off the road and plunged over a precipice in Au Pos, Anse La Raye, on Sunday morning.
Police identified the deceased as Andrez Forde of Marchand, Castries.
According to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, officers attached to the Anse La Raye Police Station responded to reports of the crash at approximately 7:55 a.m.
Preliminary investigations indicate that an orange Toyota Aqua left the roadway and went over a precipice.
The vehicle had two occupants, who were assisted by personnel from the Saint Lucia Fire Service before being transported by ambulance to the Owen King EU Hospital.
Police said Forde succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
The female occupant remains in stable condition.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
