Pitso Mosimane breaks silence on possible Bafana Bafana return
Mosimane has addressed speculation linking him with a return to Bafana Bafana, while praising Broos for the progress made with the team.

Former Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has broken his silence on the possibility of returning as Bafana Bafana head coach.
The highly decorated tactician has emerged as one of the favourites to succeed Hugo Broos should the South African Football Association (SAFA) decide against extending the Belgian’s contract.
Broos’ current deal is set to expire at the end of the month, but uncertainty remains over his future despite guiding Bafana Bafana to the knockout stages of the FIFA World Cup in June.
Speaking about the speculation, Mosimane admitted he is unsure whether he will get the Bafana job but praised Broos for the progress made with the national team.
“Well, the Bafana job… I don’t know when coach Hugo Broos’ contract ends, but I know that the federation has spoken to a lot of us,” Mosimane said.

He believes the national team is in a strong position but stressed there is still room for growth.
“There’s room for improvement. I left Sundowns with a Champions League title. Did they win a second one? They did, right? So every stage and every level can be reached and improved. It’s not for the first time we’ve qualified for the World Cup.”
“We have raised the bar, yes, but we have to leave the jersey in a better place,” he said.
Mosimane previously coached Bafana Bafana between 2010 and 2012 before being dismissed after South Africa failed to beat Ethiopia in a crucial 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Since then, the 62-year-old has established himself as one of Africa’s most successful coaches, winning multiple CAF Champions League titles and seven league championships over the past 16 years.
With Broos’ future still unresolved, many South African football fans believe “Jingles” is the ideal candidate to lead Bafana Bafana into their next chapter.
