Role Model Earns His First Hot 100 Hit as New Single ‘High Hopes 3000’ Debuts
The song is the lead single from his upcoming album, Chuck Timely & The Hourglass.
Role Model becomes a Billboard Hot 100-charting artist this week as his new single, “High Hopes 3000,” debuts at No. 94 on the chart dated June 20.
Released June 3 via Interscope/Interscope Capitol, the song arrives almost entirely on the strength of its opening-week streams, as it drew 3.9 million chart-contributing U.S. streams June 5-11, according to Luminate. It also debuts at No. 19 on both Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Alternative Songs.
The debut follows a breakout year for Role Model, whose 2025 hit “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” came within striking distance of the Hot 100, peaking at No. 2 on the chart’s Bubbling Under ranking. The song found broader success elsewhere on Billboard’s charts, spending a week at No. 1 on Adult Alternative Airplay in September and reaching No. 3 on Alternative Airplay, No. 4 on Rock & Alternative Airplay, No. 25 on Pop Airplay and No. 31 on Adult Pop Airplay.
“High Hopes 3000” serves as the lead single from Role Model’s third studio album, Chuck Timely & The Hourglass, due Aug. 7. Its predecessor, Kansas Anymore, became his first Billboard 200 entry, peaking at No. 82 in August 2025. The set also reached No. 10 on Top Alternative Albums and performed strongly on Billboard’s sales charts, hitting No. 4 on Vinyl Albums and No. 11 on Top Album Sales.
Role Model first appeared on Billboard’s charts in April 2022, when his debut studio LP, Rx, debuted at No. 11 on the now-retired Heatseekers Albums chart. He returned in August 2024 with Kansas Anymore, which then gained renewed momentum in 2025 as “Sally” emerged as a breakthrough hit.
Beyond “Sally,” Role Model has charted one other song on Billboard’s genre charts: “Writing’s on the Wall,” which peaked at No. 14 on Hot Alternative Songs and No. 25 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs in January.
