Rory of “New Rory & Mal Podcast” Says He Had “Multiple Strokes”

Rory Farrell found himself facing something far more serious than a crowded Jay-Z pop up. The popular New Rory & Mal podcast cohost has revealed that he suffered multiple strokes over the course of several days.

The crazy thing is he brushed off warning signs at first.

Rory recounted the frightening ordeal on the latest episode of the podcast. He said it all began as dizziness on his way to attend Jay-Z’s pop up event in Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood. It soon spiraled into a medical emergency.

Rory tried to push through, thinking he was dealing with vertigo. Instead, he became violently ill, projectile vomiting while losing the ability to move parts of his body.

Rather than immediately seeking medical attention, he waited in his car until the symptoms eased. Incredibly, he still made it to the Jay-Z event, but maintained he has virtually no memory of being there.

“I immediately get the f#ck out of there after that run into Joey Badass. I have no idea what I said to Joey on the way out,” he explained after describing other interactions. “And I tried to walk up the hill back to the parking garage. Fall like twice. Get to my car. I’m like, ‘I can do it.'”

He says he keeping going, knowing he had podcast obligations to make.

“I made it just to our office and parked outside of our office and slept here for like four hours. Woke up. Went home next day. I felt OK,” he said. “I felt weak…a little bit of vertigo. Then we recorded. Felt OK. I was like ‘I’mma get checked out tomorrow.’ I should’ve went to the hospital right away. I’m like can’t miss two episodes Friday.”

After going to his doctor’s, they confirmed he had suffered multiple strokes after initially saying it was not that.

He ultimately had to get surgery and is now recovering.

Rory joked that the MRI machine sounded like Frank Ocean’s “Blonde.”

Rory openly admitted he should have gone to the hospital after the very first symptoms appeared instead of trying to tough it out, calling it “man sh#t.”
