By Zoila Palma: This morning, the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Community woke up to the devastating news of the double murder of 2 dedicated Special Constables Manuel Smith “CarB” and Fidencia “Ms. Fidy” Osgalla.
CarB and Ms. Fidy were well known for their work alongside the Belize Police Department and in particular the San Ignacio Police.
Their familiar faces would be seen on patrols and walking alongside our September parades.
They firmly believed in dedicating their time and effort and volunteering to make our communities safer but their lives were abruptly cut short by gun violence.
Today, our communities mourn along with their families, their friends and colleagues.
