Senegalese football continues to shine, with over 2 billion CFA francs (more than 3 million euros) generated from March’s friendly matches.

A success that its president, Abdoulaye Fall, was quick to highlight.

“We’re going to take stock. My staff is currently working on it, but we can already say that it’s a financial success. Just in terms of ticket sales alone, the result is overwhelmingly positive, exceeding our expectations.”

The matches against Peru and Gambia, held at the Stade de France and the Stade Maître Abdoulaye Wade, contributed significantly to these revenues.

Fall also highlighted the economic impact of international matches.

“Every time we host matches, we bring in hundreds of millions into our coffers…”

On the field, Senegal delivered with two wins, confirming its strong momentum ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

However, organizational shortcomings remain. The president acknowledges them openly and promises improvements.

“We need to fix certain things… There were still some glitches… Starting with the next match, the system will work.”
