By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police are investigating a shooting in Lemonal Village that reportedly stemmed from an ongoing land dispute.
Reports indicate that tensions flared Sunday afternoon when a group confronted a man operating heavy equipment on a property in the area.
During the confrontation, the operator allegedly opened fire, injuring Stacey Middleton in her right leg.
The suspect was later detained by police, who also recovered his licensed firearm at the scene.
Middleton received injuries to her leg as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
