Whoa. Simply whoa. You want to turn heads and stop conversations? The 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQ Premium Sport did all of that wherever I drove it. Cadillac dressed its all-electric flagship in customized Luna Metallic—a medium gray with metallic flakes for extra shimmer—which hit right sitting on the diamond-cut 24-inch wheels. At times I wanted to sit back and let someone chauffeur me around while I indulged in its technology and pampering. But then, getting behind the wheel and navigating through Atlanta’s streets with the volume bumped up always took priority.

Speaking of music, the 38-speaker AKG Reference audio system deserves its own standing ovation. One of the first things I do when reviewing a car is to see how a vehicle treats the ears. This Escalade utilizes a 3D soundstage with speakers throughout the dashboard, doors, ceiling, headrests and booming subwoofers, so every track became an immersive concert. I even escaped daily demands, found a quiet spot, parked, and kicked back watching a FIFA match. It sounded like I splurged on one of those $3K tickets and went to the actual match going on a few blocks away.

Performance was equally impressive. Powered by dual electric motors producing up to 750 horsepower with all-wheel drive, the Escalade IQ launches with rocket thrust despite clearly not missing a meal weighing 9,000 pounds. Cadillac’s adaptive air suspension and four-wheel steering do a stellar job masking that mass, delivering a surprisingly smooth, composed ride whether it’s quick errands or what I preferred, highway excursions. With up to an astounding 465 miles on a full charge, range anxiety was virtually an afterthought for such an imposing vessel.

The interior felt like a luxurious cigar lounge on wheels—minus the smoke of course. A theateresque 55-inch pillar-to-pillar display dominates the dashboard while premium materials, massaging front and second-row seats for some much-needed whoosah, Super Cruise hands-free driving technology, a panoramic fixed glass roof, and automatic power-opening doors completed the world-class experience. For an extra $1,995, my review vehicle also featured the optional rear-seat entertainment package, making sure up to seven passengers got the royal treatment.

The automatic doors were a little aggressive at first, requiring some getting used to, the massive dimensions require extra attention in parking garages and tight spaces, and the absence of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto—my choice platform—may disappoint some buyers. Oh, and accessing the third row could also be easier.

Still, those shortcomings became manageable when compared to the opulence and driving experience. Simply put, the Escalade IQ Premium Sport represents Cadillac’s bold vision for the future going all-electric while embracing the Escalade’s iconic history as America’s most popular luxury SUV. Real talk, the heavy price tag starts at $148,205 and maxes out at $154,495 with the aforementioned Luna Metallic paint, rear-seat entertainment package, AKG Bluetooth headphones, and destination charge, it’s undoubtedly in dream-car territory for many. But if you’ve got it like that and want one of the most technologically advanced luxury SUVs ever built, this is your ride. Just remember, the jeweled crown, scepter and velvet robe are sold separately.
