Entitled Celebrating Hidden Histories; Goldframing Women in the Revolution

Exhibition Dates: 12th - 22nd August 2024

Opening Night: 14th August 2024
Location: Africa Centre, London

Audacious Artist Stella B is set to unveil her inviting first solo exhibition, acronymed S. H. E or
“Super Hero Energy" at the
Africa Centre in London from today August 12th to 22nd, 2024. In a celebration coinciding with the Africa Centre's 60th anniversary, Stella B’s exhibition promises a profound exploration of African heroism through her unique aesthetic and poetic vision.

Super Hero Energy, or #she, is an evocative collection that spotlights female figures whose contributions have been relegated to the periphery of history. Through intricate visuals and gilded frames, Stella B reclaims and reveres these narratives, elevating their stories with the dignity and prominence they deserve. Each piece is accompanied by Stella's original poetry, weaving a powerful narrative tapestry that
connects visual and verbal artistry.

The official opening night on August 14th will offer a private viewing experience where invited guests and press will have the privilege of engaging with Stella B personally as she elucidates the inspirations behind her works. This exclusive event will also feature live readings of poetry from two powerful women Duality D, a recent gold medalist for Boxing Charity Event Fight Foward and healing Medicine Woman Blue Lotus, offering a deeper immersion into the themes of the exhibition. Adding to the intellectual depth of “Super Hero Energy,"a panel discussion titled “Herstory: Remembering the Marginalized” will be held, featuring the esteemed writer Nnzingha Assata alongside other prominent voices on the 21st August. This discourse will delve into the systemic marginalization of female narratives and the critical need for their recognition in historical contexts.
