The track Make It Reggay nicely encapsulates what this band can do, a mostly instrumental organ-led track that sounds very much like it could have originally been released between, say, 1970 and 1973. Some of them are simple, optimistic numbers to get the dancers out on the floor, and a few are socially conscious – try The Life. The rhythms are generally those of rocksteady, or late 60s and early 70s reggae, the vocals fit perfectly and the musicianship lovely – listen to the organ sound on the final track, Swing And Sway, or the funky reggae approach of the cover of Message From The Meters, which in itself shows how much these guys know their stuff. Note that the vinyl LP only contains twelve tracks, the other formats have fourteen.
Whichever format you buy though, this is a set that harks back to simpler times, and will certainly get your feet moving. Very nice!
