A simple lunchbox can make the difference between a child struggling through the school day or having the energy to focus, smile, and believe in themselves. The wonderful team at the WAS Foundation is ensuring that no child goes to school without the fuel they need to succeed.
Krugersdorp West, South Africa (22 May 2026) – Every morning a child goes to school hungry, it becomes harder for them to concentrate, learn, grow, and simply enjoy being a child.
At WAS Foundation, the Breakfast and Lunchbox Projects are about so much more than food. These projects bring hope, comfort, dignity, and the reassurance that someone cares.
For many of the children the volunteers serve, the breakfast they receive is the first meal they have had since the previous day. A simple lunchbox can make the difference between a child struggling through the school day or having the energy to focus, smile, and believe in themselves.
“We see the reality families are facing every day. Parents are trying their best, but times are difficult, and many children are going to school without enough food. That is why these projects are so important to us,” the organisation shared.
However, the WAS Foundation cannot do this alone. This team needs its community, supporters, and kind-hearted people to stand with it, so that it can continue feeding little tummies and giving children a fair chance at education and life.
“If you would like to support our Breakfast and Lunchbox Projects in any way, whether through food donations, financial contributions, or helping us spread awareness. Together, we can make sure no child has to learn on an empty stomach.”
