Sobers, of 2nd Avenue Sealy Land, Bank Hall, St Michael, pleaded guilty before Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court No. 1 last week.
The unemployed 52-year-old walked into Callie’s Pharmacy in Bayside Plaza on May 28, took up two QC psyllium powders, two containers of cocoa butter or bottle of shilling oil, altogether worth $185.35, and walked right past the cashier without paying for them.
According to prosecutor Sergeant Victoria Leacock, the manager was dealing with a delivery at the time and Sobers took the opportunity to enter the pharmacy and remove the items. A customer who was there alerted her that Sobers was acting suspiciously. (SD)
