Water distribution showing signs of recovery: City of Tshwane

The City of Tshwane says its water distribution network is showing signs of recovery following Rand Water’s planned maintenance.

The city says that while most water systems across the metro are stabilising, several reservoirs remain under pressure, leaving some communities vulnerable to low water pressure and intermittent supply.

The city’s spokesperson, Lindela Mashigo, says technicians are closely monitoring affected systems.

Mashigo has urged residents to use water sparingly as the network continues its gradual recovery.

“The city has now withdrawn the additional external water tankers deployed during the maintenance period and continues to balance the network to support recovery. Residents are asked to use water sparingly, especially in low-lying areas, to help reservoirs recover and allow water to reach higher-lying communities. We thank residents for their patience and cooperation as the system continues to stabilise.”
