THE Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has denied any involvement in Thursday’s accident that killed six members of the same family along the Harare-Masvingo highway.
According to ZACC Commissioner Kindness Paradza, the anti-graft body was concerned with a circulating video and audio “that wrongly implicates the Commission’s officers in the tragedy and confirms to the public once again, that there are no ZACC officers deployed at any roadblock throughout the country.”
The fatal accident occurred Thursday morning when a Mercedes-Benz was involved in a head-on collision with a Toyota Corolla at the 246 km peg.
ZACC has since consoled the family saying “it has learnt with deep sorrow the passing on of six (6) people in a fatal accident that occurred along Masvingo – Beitbridge highway on 2 April 2026.
“The Commission condoles with the bereaved families and wishes the injured speedy recovery,” said Commissioner Paradza.
Police have since released the names of the deceased family members as Lillian Maranda Mujuru (40), Nokutenda (15), Makanaka (13), Ronald Junior (11), Rufaro Shalom (7) and Kayden (3), all of Tynwald North, Harare.
