In the press release, Hughes said: “This is a proud moment for Anguilla and for the swimming community.

“Jediah’s participation represents not only his personal commitment and growth, but also the progress being made in developing swimming in Anguilla. We are honoured to represent the island at this level.”

Hughes will also represent Anguilla in various meetings connected to the event, supporting Anguilla’s continued engagement with regional and international aquatics development.

The pair will leave Anguilla on 1 July through the Blowing Point Ferry Terminal and are scheduled to return on 16 July.

The AASA is committed to the growth and development of swimming in Anguilla through athlete development, coaching support, competitive opportunities, and regional and international representation.

It said it views the upcoming participation as an important step in expanding opportunities for Anguillian swimmers and strengthening the island’s presence in competitive swimming across the Americas.
