Maputo (MOZTIMES) - President Daniel Chapo used the celebrations of the 51st anniversary of Mozambican independence on Thursday to deliver an appeal for national unity, peace and economic opportunity, warning that poverty, unemployment and corruption remain the country's real enemies.
In a speech blending patriotism with a call for economic transformation, Chapo urged Mozambicans to reject political divisions and rally behind what he described as a national mission to build a more prosperous and inclusive country.
