Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II invites community members to a march to end gun violence, honoring the life and memory of Emani “Flash” Robinson on Sunday, June 28. The march will begin at 2:30 p.m. on N. 37th and W. Center St., with the annual Emani Robinson Community Day Block Party to follow. Commemorating nine years since his passing, the march will bring light to the young people in Milwaukee affected by gun violence.
The festivities will include food, bounce house, contests, haircuts and other activities. The event will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with the march to kick it off.
Emani was just 16 when he was shot and killed in a senseless incident near 39th and Center in June 2017.
“I encourage the community to come out and use this block party as an opportunity to come together and support each other and celebrate the legacy of a promising young man who was lost too soon,” Alderman Stamper said. “Emani is remembered as a loved family member and friend with an electric personality who could always uplift those who had the opportunity of spending time with him, and we again look forward to honoring his memory.”
