St Mary’s College took firm control of Group A while Soufriere Comprehensive took the lead in Group B when the Secondary Schools Under-16 Boys’ Basketball Tournament continued on Thursday, May 14, with four games at the Beausejour Gymnasium.
SMC defeated Leon Hess Comprehensive 49-13, led by another strong performance from Daelan Magloire. Magloire scored 24 points on 17 shots, with five rebounds and five steals. Ernel EJ Mason contributed 10 points and six rebounds, while Jayden Isaac had four points and nine rebounds.

Frederick Tiris led LHCSS with seven points and five rebounds. SMC also held a 32-17 advantage in rebounds over Hess.
Also in Group A, Choiseul Secondary earned their first win, 26-20, after a defensive battle with Vieux Fort Comprehensive. Christiano Nestor led Choiseul’s balanced scoring effort with 10 points and 12 rebounds. He was one of four Choiseul players with at least nine boards, Gael Issac leading with 14. Rennel Joseph got 14 steals.

Tommy Kharis recorded a triple-double for VFCSS, finishing with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 11 steals. This was VFCSS’s second loss.
In Group B, SCSS came from behind in the fourth quarter to defeat Castries Comprehensive 35-30, keeping CCSS scoreless in the last period. Kyree Clovis and Trenton Henry each scored 13 points for Soufriere, and Henry also collected 18 rebounds.
David Chandler led CCSS with 15 points, seven rebounds, five steals, three assists and five blocks.
Entrepot Secondary got their first win, defeating Beanefield Comprehensive 16-14. The teams were tied at 12 and 14 before ESS secured the victory. Azaria Leon led ESS with 10 points, three rebounds, and four steals. Jaiden Gregg added eight points and 13 rebounds.

The tournament is organised by the Ministry of Education, Youth Development and Sports
