Two Business Break-ins Reported in Separate Incidents

Police are investigating two separate incidents reported in different parts of Antigua, with lumber and convenience store items among the items allegedly stolen.

In the first incident, a building under renovation at Cross and Nevis streets was reportedly entered by an unknown individual, who took a quantity of lumber. According to reports, investigating officers found no signs of forced entry, leading authorities to believe access was gained using a key.

The quantity and value of the stolen lumber are yet to be determined.

In the second incident, a superette on Buckley Line was allegedly broken into in the early hours of June 22nd, with a cash register drawer, a quantity of lighters, and other items reportedly taken. The intruder or intruders allegedly forced their way through secured entry points before removing the items. CCTV footage was reviewed as part of the investigation, and a search of the surrounding area was conducted. However the stolen items were not recovered. The value of the goods remains to be ascertained.

Inquiries into both matters are continuing.
