*Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban is sounding the alarm on how emerging technology and financial pressures could reshape the business world. He believes the next decade will separate companies that evolve quickly from those that fail to keep pace.

According to Finance Buzz, at the center of his outlook is artificial intelligence, which he sees as a defining factor for survival. Cuban described a stark divide, saying, “There’s going to be two types of companies in this world: Those who are great at AI, and everybody else that they put out of business,” Cuban said. Businesses that hesitate to integrate AI tools risk falling behind competitors that move faster and operate more efficiently.

Media companies are also facing a changing reality. With AI making it easier and cheaper to produce written, audio, and video content, individuals now have more control over what they create and distribute. This shift reduces the long-standing advantage that traditional outlets once held over independent creators.

Cuban also highlighted industries like restaurants and fashion as difficult places to build long-term stability. While these businesses are not disappearing, they are often crowded with competitors and vulnerable when consumer spending declines. Reflecting on the risks tied to these sectors, he said, “That is death.”

Another major concern involves companies that rely heavily on third-party platforms such as Amazon and Etsy. These businesses operate under rules they do not control, leaving them exposed to unexpected fee increases or visibility changes. Cuban emphasized this risk, noting, “When I look at investing in companies, if you have any level of dependency on Amazon, it’s a negative,” he wrote in a 2025 post on X.

Even in the rapidly expanding AI space, Cuban expects only a handful of companies to endure. He compares the current landscape to the early days of search engines, when Google ultimately outpaced its rivals.

He also pointed to organizations tied closely to government funding and smaller rural businesses as particularly exposed during economic downturns. Limited financial flexibility and reliance on outside support could make it difficult for them to weather prolonged instability.
