Alfie Watts – TukTuk tour update

Alfie doesn’t settle for mediocrity and explains what he’ll be doing next when it comes to his travel and mental health pilgrimage

Alfie is quick to note: “In a digital landscape that is increasingly oversaturated by generic travel content, settling for mediocrity guarantees platforms and brands a very lacklustre 2026. That’s why I’ll be using this year to deliver something that is outrageously viral and marries the two key pillars of my viral content – travel and mental health.”

Journeying from London to the North Cape

He adds: “I will be journeying from London to the North Cape in Norway in a TukTuk on a travel and mental health “pilgrimage” – starting in one of the most depressed and darkest places in Europe and ending on the day of the summer solstice in one of the happiest countries on earth.”

Alfie explains that the entire ethos of the project will be to document a raw and open account of his mental health processes in the most open and grounded way to travel, showcasing some of the most incredible sights in Europe by literally driving the roads and streets that make it so special, and raising awareness about mental health – and funds for young people’s mental health charities and organisations – along the way. Connection with people in every single city and country the tour crosses will build the foundation for content

Writing messages to young people

“Firstly, the TukTuk would be completely unbranded, so people we meet on the street and at key landmarks would be encouraged to use the vehicle as a canvas to write a message to young people facing mental health challenges,” he says, adding: “Alongside this, those strangers who show some promise will be asked to interact on camera, allowing us to gather a portfolio of vulnerable, honest accounts about how every strand of humanity frames and copes with mental health differently. Something like a scenic, deep chat with a young man in the Norwegian fjords, whilst not inherently special, is footage that no-one else is capturing.

Building the hype

The key takeaway is that generating constant rolling coverage and attention is absolutely vital to build the hype this needs to succeed; hence a high-profile launch event in London, after touring the nation’s TV studios, radio stations and press outlets, is crucial, followed by consistent, daily long and short form uploads to keep the viewers hooked. Alfie will be supported by his in-house team of cameramen, editors, producers and press experts to deliver this.

Many ways of raising funds along the way will be explored, culminating in the TukTuk potentially being auctioned off, adorned with hundreds of bespoke quotes about mental health, for YoungMinds, at the end of the challenge.

“The hope is that the TukTuk has been seen many millions of times, and becomes infamous to the watching audiences. I want to work closely with brands who align with this ethos and also capture vision of the global reach this could achieve – it’s time to make an impact,” says Alfie.
