Alleged shooter remanded to HMP

A 23-year-old man from Hatton has been remanded to His Majesty’s Prison following a shooting incident on Queen Elizabeth Highway last month.

Nathaniel Santana appeared in the St. John’s Magistrate’s Court before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel on Thursday, May 7, however the matter was adjourned until June 18.

Police charged Santana with shooting with intent to murder, discharging a firearm in a public place, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Investigators allege Santana unlawfully and maliciously shot at a 32-year-old Gray’s Farm resident during the incident on April 26.

Police investigations are continuing.
