Johannesburg, South Africa (22 May 2026)- South African radio host and food content creator Nick Hamman is once again reminding people just how powerful a single video can be for a local business.

After Nick recently spotlighted Aunty Pree’s Curry Spot and its famous bunny chow, owner Aunty Pree has now shared an emotional message thanking him for the overwhelming support that followed.

And according to her, things exploded almost overnight.

“From the time you came, when the YouTube videos went out, it’s literally gone viral. People were coming from all over. There were lines outside my door. I was cooking every two hours.”

In the heartfelt video, Aunty Pree explained how the sudden influx of customers forced the business to bring in more family members and extra staff to help keep up with demand.

“We had to bring in more families to help, more staff to help. The parking, there was no parking in the parking facilities. It was phenomenal.”

She also praised Nick for consistently using his platform to uplift small businesses across South Africa.

Nick later shared the clip online, saying the joy of helping small businesses grow is what continues to motivate his content. The original feature quickly became a hit after Nick visited the eatery to explore the story behind its food.

During the video, Nick unpacked some of the history connected to bunny chow and Durban Indian cuisine, while also showing off Aunty Pree’s spread of biryani, prawns, roti, beans and curry dishes passed down through generations.

Many people online were drawn to the visible impact the exposure had on the family-run business.
