BlackNews.UKSo this happened at Kings Cross station yesterday. (I didn't post this as soon as it happened because my FB app was glitching and I wanted to process what happe...ned first). I was changing from the northern line to the Picadilly line when I saw three white British Transport police officers corner a young black man. Instantly my gut told me something was wrong, and a couple other people noticed it too so we stopped. I started filming as I've learned how important it is to film all interactions you have with the police. A woman next to me started to ask an officer what was happening. Through listening to their conversation and listening to the man being stopped by police this is what I gathered was happening. The police's version of the story is that a police officer saw the man changing lines and called in her colleagues to stop him (it is important to note that he was dressed in a tracksuit and had a Nike bag with him), there were reasonable grounds for this search (the police officers refused to tell us what it was) but the man was refusing the search so they had to detain him. The man story is that he was just heading to the gym from work and there were no reasonable grounds for this search so he was refusing the search and giving any private information to the police which was his right as the police were not presenting any reasonable grounds for the search. More and more people stopped to see what was happening and began asking questions, during this the police talking to the man become increasingly aggressive with him and he started to visibly get more stressed. Then an older white man (I'd say later 50's early 60's) came and loudly began demanding the reasons for the detainment. After having an officer push him and yell at him to get back, the man shouted back and then two officers (one in uniform one plain-clothed) grabbed him and shoved him against a wall. This man was about 4 inches shorter, 20kg lighter and twenty years older than any of the officers yet they still thought it was appropriate to have two officers grab him and shove him against a wall. Then floods of officers appeared and started pushing the crowd back while about 8 started to physical grab and cuff the man being stopped to take him to the station, This whole thing happened in about 15mins, and I filmed it all. I encourage you all to watch and share the video, this was a blatant abuse of power and racial profiling by the police and we have to hold them accountable for their actions. They are meant to protect our communities, this is the opposite of that. Shame on them. #blacklivesmatter #theukisnotinnocent #metpolice
