*The cast of “Dexter: Resurrection” keeps building ahead of its second season. Variety is reporting that Bokeem Woodbine and Nona Parker Johnson have both secured series regular roles in the Paramount+ Premium drama.
Johnson is set to portray Fiona Mixon, described as “a training officer in the Homicide unit and a nepo-baby in the police world and Harrison’s (Jack Alcott) new love interest.” Woodbine steps into the role of Capt. Mixon, characterized as “a bulldog of a homicide captain and Fiona’s father.”
They join previously announced cast members Brian Cox, who plays the serial killer the New York Ripper — and Dan Stevens, who takes on the role of The Five Boroughs Killer. Uma Thurman is also on board, returning to her Season 1 role as Charley.

Clyde Phillips, who helmed the original “Dexter” series, developed “Dexter: Resurrection” and remains at the helm as showrunner and executive producer. Michael C. Hall stars as Dexter Morgan and holds an executive producer credit as well. Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios produce the series.
Season 1 served as a direct continuation of “Dexter: New Blood,” catching up with Dexter Morgan in the aftermath of being shot by Harrison, his own son. Dexter survives and comes out of a coma only to discover Harrison has vanished, prompting him to head to New York City to track him down and make amends. Meanwhile, Angel Batista of Miami Metro shows up with lingering questions, reminding Dexter that his history refuses to stay buried. The season charts both men confronting their personal demons in New York, with their bond ultimately becoming the key to survival.
