Cape Flats woman arrested over illegal firearm, ammunition
The woman was arrested and is expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrates court on Monday.

A 25-year-old woman has been arrested in Ottery on the Cape Flats for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Police spokesperson FC Van Wyk says members of the Anti-Gang Unit were conducting crime prevention duties when they received information of a premises in Peter Court, where firearms were allegedly kept.
This comes during ongoing and fatal gang shootings in the Grassy Park area. The woman was arrested and is expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s court on Monday.
Officers also followed up on information of drugs that were stored at a premises in Edward Informal Settlement in Ottery.
Van Wyk says upon searching the premises sachets of tik were found abandoned.
He says no arrests were made.
