*The Michael Jackson estate is facing a devastating new legal battle. Four siblings from the Cascio family — long considered Jackson’s “second family” — filed a federal lawsuit in Los Angeles in February 2026. But the case exploded into public view yesterday (04-24-26), following a bombshell New York Times interview.

The plaintiffs are Edward (Eddie), Dominic, Aldo Cascio, and their sister Marie-Nicole Porte. A fifth sibling, Frank Cascio, has reportedly filed similar claims in a separate arbitration.

“Serial Child Predator” Allegations

The complaint is brutally direct. “Michael Jackson was a serial child predator who, over the course of more than a decade, drugged, raped and sexually assaulted each of the Plaintiffs, beginning when some of them were as young as seven or eight,” the document states.

The abuse allegedly happened at Neverland Ranch, on U.S. and international tours, and even inside the Cascio family’s own New Jersey home — including while Jackson stayed there with his own children. The siblings claim Jackson’s handlers and entourage members “willingly enabled it all.”

They further allege they were “groomed and brainwashed” to become Jackson’s “soldiers” — trained to publicly defend him against other abuse accusations. That explains why the family appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s show in 2010, denying any improprieties. Now, they say they were manipulated and only fully understood what happened after watching the documentary Leaving Neverland, according to Variety and other outlets.

The Confidential Settlement That Collapsed

The Cascios were extraordinarily close to Jackson for roughly 25 years. Their father met Jackson while managing a Manhattan hotel. After Jackson died in 2009, the siblings reportedly approached the estate with their claims privately. A confidential settlement was reached — allegedly around $16 million over five years.

But payments stopped in 2025. Negotiations broke down. And the February 2026 federal lawsuit followed.

Estate’s Response: “Desperate Money Grab”

Jackson estate attorney Marty Singer did not hold back. He called the lawsuit a “desperate money grab” and a “shakedown attempt.” Singer emphasized that the Cascio family “staunchly defended Michael Jackson for more than 25 years” and that their stories have now shifted dramatically — solely for financial gain.

The estate continues to deny all allegations of abuse, as it has for years following previous claims in Leaving Neverland and other legal battles.

The Biopic Elephant in the Room

The timing of this media explosion is impossible to ignore. The same weekend the lawsuit dominates headlines, the Michael Jackson biopic Michael — starring Jaafar Jackson — is posting massive box office numbers. Thursday previews alone reached $12.6 million, with strong audience scores.

Critics of the accusers call the timing suspicious, suggesting it is designed to overshadow or pressure the estate as the film succeeds. Supporters of the Cascio siblings argue that delayed disclosures are common in grooming and abuse cases, and that the biopic’s release has nothing to do with their courage to finally speak publicly.

Public Reaction and Jackson’s Legacy

Online reaction is deeply split. Fan groups question the Cascios’ credibility given their past public defenses of Jackson and the confidential settlement that already paid them millions. Others see this as further evidence in a broader pattern of accusations spanning decades.

What is clear is that the debate over Michael Jackson’s legacy is far from settled. The biopic reportedly ends before the major allegations of the 1990s and 2000s — and now this lawsuit adds yet another layer of controversy as the film continues its box-office run.

The court fight is just beginning. But the court of public opinion delivered its first verdict within hours of the New York Times interview going live.
