Team Saint Lucia are seeking to retain their title in the Winlott Under-15 Cricket Tournament now underway in Grenada.
The tournament, which runs until December 15, brings together emerging young players to sharpen their skills and showcase their promise. In the buildup to the tournament, the squad participated in preparatory activities, including a practice match on Thursday, December 4.
National Under 15 Head Coach Alton Crafton indicated that the preparation had been going well.
“Saint Lucia are the defending champions, so we’re looking this year to ensure that we regain the championship,” he said. “The preparation has been going on well so far. We wish we had more time to do more because at that age group you find it’s about development, always working on progress. But I’m satisfied with what has happened and I think the team is in good stead to defend the championship in Grenada.”
The team features multiple returning players from last year including skipper Jean-Claude Emmanuel, a seam bowler and top-order batter and vice captain Kaleb Charles, who is also a seam bowler.
