Cornerstone Christian College Prep 35 Years of Academic Excellence From The USA to The Philippines and to Nigeria

Cornerstone Christian College Preparatory Day and High School (C-Prep), founded and led by Headmaster, Dr. Oscar J. Nelson Dowdell-Underwood, has begun its 35th year of academic excellence, and within the first two weeks of school, there has been an elevated growth and learning. From the very first days of this school year, students and staff have operated at an elevated level by the grace of GOD.
C-Prep has always stood apart as an institution dedicated not only to preparing students for success in college but also for excellence in every area of life. At C-Prep, knowledge is never separated from GOD. Instead, GOD is the foundation of all knowledge. This truth instills in students a powerful belief: they matter, they can learn anything without walls, and they can achieve success without limitations.
This year, C-Prep has students both on the physical campus in Fort Wayne and globally through C-Prep Cyber Global Campus. Students in the Philippines and Nigeria interact daily with their teachers and cohorts in the USA on the Cyber Global Campus. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, when schools around the world shut down, C-Prep expanded its Cyber Global Campus to the Philippines. Since then, six international students have graduated from C-Prep, with five of them traveling to Fort Wayne fully sponsored by Dr. Oscar J. Nelson Dowdell-Underwood, to participate in commencement ceremonies.
As a result of the impact of C-Prep’s Cyber campus, this school year, ten students are enrolled from the Philippines. In addition, five young ladies from Nigeria have joined C-Prep’s global exchange program. Their guardian, Seyi, expressed heartfelt gratitude: “We are indeed grateful for the opportunity these young ladies have been given. This singular opportunity has reignited hope in the students in Nigeria.” Seyi referred to C-Prep as a miracle. “This miracle strengthens their faith to know GOD truly has a beautiful future planned for them.”
Students themselves echo this testimony. Jordan, a first-year student from the Philippines, shared: “C-Prep is more than just a school. It’s a place where I’ve grown spiritually, emotionally, and academically.” Another new student from the Philippines, Yuri, added: “My experience at C-Prep has been amazing. This school is not just ordinary; it’s a place where you gain knowledge and grow spiritually. In every class, every day, you can feel the presence of GOD.”
Elisha, also a new student from the Philippines, testified that her life has been transformed through C-Prep: “Since becoming a Global Exchange student at C-Prep, I feel closer to GOD, and my life has been amazing.”
As a teacher this year, I can affirm that it has been an amazing and remarkable year so far, and I know where the students and staff, and our headmaster are, and GOD is going to take the students, staff, and headmaster to greater depths in awareness of Him and what the students can learn because C-Prep doesn’t place limits on what students can learn. Rooted in faith, Mark 9:23 and Possibleology®, C-Prep fosters limitless learning. As Mark 9:23 reminds us, “All things are possible to him who believes.” At C-Prep, students believe and live this affirmation, which is anchored in Possibleology®, a Science and Study pioneered by Dr. Nelson Dowdell-Underwood, The Father of Possibleology® and Possibility Education Awareness. Possibleology® teaches students and adults that, through GOD, they are made possible and have the power to break every limitation.
Even in just the first two weeks of this school year, C-Prep students even from kindergarten through fourth grade are excelling at an exponential rate. In addition to their core classes, they are learning and mastering information such as Shakespeare and Kids Around the World. Grades 5th – 12th, in addition to their core subjects, are taking Anatomy and Physiology, Introduction to the Liberal Arts, and Introduction to Global Leadership, to name a few. C-Prep is a safe haven where students not only grow academically but also gain confidence in themselves and in GOD.
C-Prep’s legacy speaks for itself. Since its founding in 1991, Dr. Nelson Dowdell-Underwood has designed C-Prep not only to prepare students for higher education but also to equip them to reign in life. With a rigorous curriculum and destiny principles, C-Prep shapes students to live with excellence, faith, purpose, and possibleness.
Already, two weeks into this year, senior Malaki, who has attended C-Prep since kindergarten and skipped a grade due to his academic excellence, has been accepted to college with one of the university’s highest scholarships. With gratitude in his heart, Malaki stated, “Being at C-Prep has truly blessed me. I’ve been surrounded by people who care, who challenge me to be better, and who believe in my potential.” His mother, Dr. Kecia Williams, who serves as C-Prep’s office administrator and has multiple children at the school and one who graduated, stated: “C-Prep has undoubtedly been the foundational support that GOD intended for my children to succeed, and for that, I am incredibly grateful.”
The legacy of C-Prep is inseparable from the extraordinary leadership of its founder. C-Prep’s students and staff are blessed with the ultimate physical example of GOD-Class Excellence and true History-Making. With the leader GOD has placed before us, there are no limits to what we can achieve in life. Dr. Oscar J. Nelson Dowdell-Underwood is Indiana’s first African American Teacher of the Year, a National Teacher of the Year nominee, the author of numerous books, including one featured at the world’s largest book fair in Frankfurt, Germany; and has addressed the U.S. Congressional Committee on Small Business. His honors also includes being Indiana Businessman of the Year, Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction, and The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden, to name only a few of his achievements and accolades.
For 35 years, C-Prep has created GOD-Class Excellent Ambassadors, who are solutions and answers to many problems around the world, as we see with the students today.
