Crew members attacked

Two crew members were attacked and robbed on Popeshead Street in the early hours of Thursday, June 4th while walking back to their vessel at Heritage Quay. The police are now searching for the suspects.

 Reports indicate the incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. when the duo was approached and attacked by a group of men.

 Further reports state both men sustained multiple injuries during the assault.

 One victim was treated on the spot for injuries to his face and head while the other was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre with several wounds to his head and arm. His condition is described as serious but stable.

 The police said the assailants stole a backpack containing personal documents and a small amount of cash.

 “The Police Administration condemns this senseless act of violence and remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of both residents and visitors to the country,” the police stated in a press release.
