*Singer D4vd was back in a Los Angeles courtroom Thursday, facing charges that he murdered 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez — and prosecutors wasted no time making clear just how much evidence they believe they have against him.
According to Billboard, Assistant District Attorney Beth Silverman laid out a case built on more than 40 terabytes of digital data from the singer’s devices and cloud storage, the product of multiple search warrants and three rounds of grand jury investigation. Among that evidence, Silverman said, is deeply troubling material, including “child pornography.”
“He also had an iPhone and that iPhone, as it’s been reviewed, contains a significant amount of child pornography,” she told the court. The data also includes wiretap recordings, officer body camera footage, DNA findings, and an extensive collection of photographs.
D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, faces charges of first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under age 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains.
“The charges also allege he mutilated human remains,” District Attorney Nathan Hochman told reporters. “There is physical evidence, and there is forensic and digital evidence, that we intend to present in court.”
Prosecutors allege D4vd began a sexual relationship with Rivas when she was just 13 years old, and contend he took her life and disposed of her body after she threatened to expose the relationship — a move that could have derailed his career.
The grim discovery at the center of the case occurred on September 8, 2025, when a foul odor drew authorities to a Hollywood tow yard. Inside a Tesla tied to Burke, court records indicate officers found two black bags containing a severed head and torso alongside additional body parts, all described as “severely decomposed” and “dismembered.”
Hernandez had been listed as missing out of Lake Elsinore by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. The last time she was seen at her home was on April 5, 2024, when she walked out at 9 p.m.
D4vd has pleaded not guilty to all charges, with his legal team vowing to “vigorously defend” him and stating that the evidence will ultimately show he was not responsible for Rivas’ death.
