On April 21, the Debrieul Seventh-day Adventist Church’s Community Services Department donated 110 bed sheets to St Jude’s Hospital as part of their social responsibility efforts.
The project follows the church’s mission to live by Jesus’ words in Matthew: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40, NIV).
“Being elected as the leader of the Community Services Department, I had the full support of the team, who made this donation a reality through countless nightly meetings, volunteered time and efforts to source the sheets,” said Elder Curpris Charles, the current Community Services Leader.
This ongoing partnership shows the church’s dedication to helping the community, especially during difficult times.
“As a church, we prioritise giving back as the community partners with us through our annual Harvest Ingathering campaign, where members canvass neighbourhoods, seeking monetary contributions from the community to make projects like this one a reality,” said Pastor Leeory David.
