IT is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother Mrs. Amar Kaur Nijjar, wife of the late Piara Singh Nijjar. Born in Cheema, located in the district of Jalandhar, Punjab on June 22, 1930. She came to Canada in 1982 where she worked in agriculture until she retired as a homemaker.
She leaves behind her children: Manjit (Piara), Balbir (Jaswinder), Balbiro (Pall), and Makhan (Jasbir) along with 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. After a long and fulfilling life, she battled a few years of declining health until she took her last breath on Monday, April 27th, 2026 at the age of 95 surrounded by family. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
The funeral ceremony will take place at Riverside Funeral Home (7410 Hopcott Road, Delta) at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026 followed by prayers at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara (8115 132 Street, Surrey).
