This commitment was formally disclosed during a meeting held in Harare yesterday between the Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Tamer Almassri, and the Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa.

“Our women’s delegation once came here, and we are happy to come again and are ready to host you in Palestine. We want to be partners and supporters in women’s empowerment. Women in Zimbabwe are very strong; they actively contribute to the growth of different sectors,” he said.

“Palestine is ready to sign an MoU between our respective ministries so that we can exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation,” he said.

In response, the Zimbabwean Minister of Women Affairs noted that the country cherishes its ties with Palestine and is keen to expand on the budding relationship.

“Our mandate is to bring people together. Small and Medium Enterprises are the pulse of the economy. We are also responsible for cooperatives, which have a wider reach of inclusivity in line with Vision 2030,” she said.

She further emphasized Zimbabwe's dedication to peace and justice, as well as the nation's support for the Palestinian people.

“We value engagement on matters of mutual interest and opportunities to further strengthen that relationship. We are in total solidarity with the people of Palestine. We condemn what is happening in the Gaza Strip,” she said.
