St. Louis rap star Nelly was said to have been scheduled to perform at a members-only club owned by the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., in Washington DC, ahead of last weekend’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
The Grammy-winning music star was scheduled to take the stage on April 24th at Executive Branch, an exclusive club in Georgetown where a membership is rumored to start at $500,000. According to Politico, the guest featured senior Trump administration officials, leaders from the business and tech sector, and “non-fake news media.”
As of press time, there have been no confirmed reports or footage showing whether the performance actually happened.
Nelly previously defended his performance at Trump’s second inauguration last year, insisting it wasn’t political and saying he was simply showing “respect for the office.”
