A clip of Rick Fox — yes, that Rick Fox, the 6’7” Lakers legend, the actor from Oz, the man with the most immaculate salt-and-pepper curls in sports history — went thermonuclear on X on Thursday (04-30-26). The video, shows Fox at an outdoor campaign rally in the Bahamas, and let’s just say the man traded his keytar for knuckles.
Fox was clearly worked up — going right in front of the camera, recording it all and giving a flex — saying, “Right here for y’all, all day long.”
As of this posting, the clip has hauled in 655,000+ views, 6.7K likes on X, and a reply section that will make you snort whatever beverage you’re holding.
What Actually Happened (Besides Fox Losing His Mind)
Fox is running as the Free National Movement (FNM) candidate for the Garden Hills constituency in the Bahamas general election on May 12, 2026. The trigger for this beautiful disaster? Allegedly, a dispute over campaign tent placement or parking at an advance polling site. Because nothing says “democracy in action” like two grown adults screaming about real estate.
In the shaky handheld footage, Fox — gray curly hair bouncing, red polo shirt stretched across a frame that still looks NBA-ready — is seen pointing, shouting, and being physically restrained by campaign workers in matching “PICK RICK – Garden Hills” shirts. There’s pushing. There’s yelling. Heck, we’re talking about a man who looks ready to relive his on-court glory days via a very off-court altercation.
In a statement to TMZ Sports, Fox claimed the other man threatened his life and his campaign manager’s life.
He also famously said at an earlier rally that “the only way to deal with bullies is to punch them in the mouth.” So at least he’s consistent.
The Replies Are an Absolute Dumpster Fire of Joy
The internet, as always, delivered.
“Don’t let that curly hair fool you” — 800+ likes and counting.
“Pretty Ricky bout that action” — a reference to his old nickname that now feels terrifyingly accurate.
“His accent just came out like” — because yes, the Bahamian in Fox emerges like a dormant volcano when rage hits.
“There’s a reason Rick Fox was good anywhere he went by himself in LA, you can try him if you want to lmaooooo”
And the all-timer: “Oh, they’ve never watched Oz before.” For the uninitiated, Fox played a prisoner on HBO’s Oz. Let’s just say he wasn’t the shy type.
Nobody is horrified. Everyone is entertained. That’s the sweet spot.

This Is Actually a Real Election
Believe it or not, this isn’t a sketch. Fox is a legitimate candidate for the FNM, running against the ruling Progressive Liberal Party (PLP). He’s declared nearly $470 million in assets, making him one of the wealthiest candidates in Bahamian history. His platform includes transparency, economic opportunity, and security. Also, apparently, the willingness to throw down over a tent.
Bahamian elections have a reputation for being passionate — read: rowdy — and this clip is now the international poster child for that energy. The incident hasn’t hurt Fox. If anything, his base loves it. A politician who fights? Groundbreaking. A politician who actually looks like he could win a fight. That’s a campaign ad you can’t buy.
The Bottom Line
Rick Fox is 56 years old, worth half a billion dollars, and currently being held back by volunteers in matching shirts at a polling site in the Bahamas. And the internet cannot get enough.
Election day is May 12. If this is just the advance voting chaos, Garden Hills better buckle up. Pretty Ricky isn’t here to play nice. He’s here to squabble.
