A high-level stakeholder meeting of the Northern Corridor Integration Project (NCIP) ICT Infrastructure Cluster was held on the sidelines of the Connected Africa Summit 2026, bringing together senior officials from Uganda, South Sudan, and Rwanda to review ongoing regional digital cooperation initiatives.
The meeting was chaired by the Permanent Secretary at the Uganda Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Hon Aminah Zawedde, and attended by the Undersecretary for ICT and Telecommunications from South Sudan, Hon Thomas Gatkuoth Nyak, alongside representatives from Rwanda. The discussions formed part of continued efforts to strengthen ICT infrastructure collaboration among member states of the Northern Corridor Integration Project.
The session served as a follow-up to an earlier meeting held in Kigali, where participating countries assessed progress on regional digital integration efforts, including the development of a joint satellite initiative aimed at improving connectivity and shared infrastructure across the region.
Officials reviewed implementation progress and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing coordinated ICT infrastructure development, with a focus on expanding connectivity, enhancing digital service delivery, and supporting regional integration through shared technological investments.
The meeting underscored the importance of sustained collaboration among partner states to accelerate the rollout of strategic ICT projects that support economic growth, digital inclusion, and improved cross-border communication within the Northern Corridor region.
