Sapphire Parks is well on her way to repeating as the top athlete in the 11-12 girls category. In the 100-metre butterfly, she swam 1:08:04 in the final from Lane 4. She added a bronze medal in 32.37 seconds in the 50m backstroke, then polished off her opening night with a 2:57.22 victory in the 200m breaststroke.

On his CARIFTA debut, Tyler Dantes got a gold medal in the 11-12 boys’ 50m backstroke, swimming 31.61 seconds. In his fourth and final CARIFTA Aquatics appearance, Antoine Destang kicked his campaign off with a silver medal in 56.36 seconds in the 15-17 boys’ 100m butterfly.
