Former Ghana FA communications chief Ibrahim Sannie Daara urges support for new Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz ahead of 2026 World Cup.

Officially appointed on April 13, Queiroz’s short-term mission is to lead the Ghana national soccer team through a challenging group featuring England, Croatia, and Panama.

While expressing his support for the team, Sannie Daara acknowledged his doubts about the impact the Portuguese coach could have in such a short time.

“I doubt Carlos Queiroz can improve the Black Stars in just three weeks,” he told JoySports. “I have serious doubts, but as Ghanaians and lovers of our country, we must do everything we can to ensure the nation’s success. We can achieve this by giving the team unwavering support and providing it with everything it needs to succeed. If he succeeds, all of Ghana succeeds.”

Ghana will kick off its campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, before facing Croatia and then England in a group stage that promises to be particularly challenging.
