Gospel Star Tina Campbell’s Husband Files for Divorce After More Than Two Decades of Marriage

*Glendon “Teddy” Campbell filed for divorce from gospel singer Tina Campbell on April 13, citing irreconcilable differences in Los Angeles County Superior Court, TMZ reports. 

The two wed in August 2000 and had been living separately since June 2024. Court documents confirm the former couple share two minor children, Santana Campbell, 13, and Glendon Theodore Campbell II, 16. Teddy, also a gospel musician, has requested parenting time with both children, while spousal support remains marked for future determination.

The ex couple also share adult daughters Laiah Simone and Meelah Jane, along with Cierra, who is Teddy’s child from a previous relationship. The filing reflects no outstanding property matters between the two parties, which attorneys often interpret as a sign that financial arrangements may already be underway privately.

The divorce comes years after a painful and public cheating scandal rocked the marriage in 2014, all of it captured on the WeTV reality series “Mary Mary,” which ran from 2012 to 2017. Teddy’s affair — involving a woman who had worked for Tina and was godmother to their children — was later addressed during a 2015 television appearance on Steve Harvey.

Tina described the emotional devastation she experienced after learning of the betrayal. “It broke my heart,” she said on the show, per PEOPLE. “It devastated me and I spazzed out. I destroyed three cars, I cut up and crashed up and tried to stab and plotted murders and all kind of crazy stuff because I was angry, and I started doing all of that. I said I’m practicing dying every day. Either I’m going die wrong or live right, and so we’ve been working on living right.”

The couple ultimately chose reconciliation, though Tina’s raw anger was already on full display during the show. “I know that I never kissed another man,” she said. “I never went out with another man, I’ve never entertained the wrong conversation, I never cheated in my head, I never did anything. I was 190 percent committed to that man and this is what you did? Every time I was gone you stole my life away from me. I’m angry.”

Tina, 51, rose to prominence alongside sister Erica Campbell as one half of Mary Mary, a gospel group the duo launched in 1998.
