SURREY Police Service (SPS) is investigating reports of shots fired involving two vehicles on Saturday night in the City Centre neighbourhood.
On April 25 at approximately 9:03 p.m., SPS frontline officers responded to a report of gunshots exchanged between two vehicles near the intersection of 105 Avenue and University Drive. Officers located several spent shell casings.
The vehicles, described as a black sedan and a white sedan, were seen speeding away. The white vehicle was also described as possibly having damage to the windshield on its driver’s side.
Neither of the vehicles has been located and there have been no reports of any injuries.
SPS’s Major Crime Section has taken over the investigation. Detectives and other officers, including members of the Integrated Forensic Identification Services, may be back in the area on Sunday canvassing for physical and digital evidence. The motivation for the shooting is currently unknown.
Anyone with information or who has dashcam or CCTV footage is asked to contact SPS’s non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 26-39710 (SP) or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
