JD Vance, ‘The View’ Hosts Spar Over Black History

WASHINGTON (AURN News) — Vice President JD Vance faced pushback from the hosts of “The View” during a contentious discussion about the Trump administration’s handling of Black history and diversity initiatives.

During the exchange, “The View” co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin argued that the administration has contributed to the removal of Black history from public spaces. Goldberg accused the administration of “doing all kinds of removal of information of Black heroes,” while Vance rejected the claim that Black history is being erased.

The discussion focused on the administration’s rollback of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and the removal of historical content from some federal sites.

Just five days ago, a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to restore slavery and civil rights exhibits that had been removed from national parks and monuments across the country. The affected sites included Harpers Ferry, Philadelphia and Selma.

While Vance rejected claims that Black history is being erased, the court order directed the administration to restore exhibits that had been removed from those historic sites.
