Kashyap Wins Medals, Qualifies For Major Table Tennis Tournaments

Antigua and Barbuda’s Stuti Kashyap produced a dominant display at the recently held Caribbean Youth Championships in table tennis, claiming the Under-19 Girls Singles title and the Girls Doubles championships held in the Dominican Republic.

After serving her way to gold in the girls’ category, Kashyap joined forces with St. Lucia’s Shatal Charles to claim the top prize in the doubles’ competition. Added to this, Kashyap and fellow Antiguan, Mekhi Simmons combined for a bronze medal finish in the U19 Mixed Doubles competition.

Previously, Kashyap secured a top four finish at the CAC Qualifiers where she competed amongst the region’s best players. Simmons, at the same competition, narrowly missed a top-four spot but earned a first alternate position, underlining his growing competitiveness at the highest level.

Also, competing next at the Senior Central American & Caribbean Championships, “both athletes held their own against experienced opposition, gaining valuable exposure and demonstrating Antigua and Barbuda’s ability to compete with confidence on the regional stage,” the Antigua and Barbuda Table Tennis Association wrote.

The performances have secured Kashyap’s qualification for three major international events in 2026 — the CAC Games (July), the ITTF Americas Championships (October), and the ITTF Youth Pan American Championships (August).
