The leadership of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) held an interactive engagement session on Friday, 17 April, with stakeholders representing the 3rd and 4th divisions as well as local football academies.
Chaired by President Mustapha Raji, the meeting focused on understanding the challenges facing grassroots football while identifying areas for technical improvement.
Key discussions centered on the LFA Connect and TMS systems, alongside the Domestic Transfer Matching System (DTMS), to better manage player data.
During the session, stakeholders highlighted the urgent need for the decentralization of the Connect system and more comprehensive training for club administrators. They emphasized that proper player registration is essential for maintaining transparency and financial integrity.
Additionally, the stakeholders stressed the importance of upgrading playing facilities to create a more professional and conducive environment for young athletes to develop their skills.
In response, the LFA leadership noted these concerns and reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with all sectors to elevate Liberian football.
President Raji also used the occasion to announce several upcoming initiatives designed to support the grassroots level. These plans include the direct distribution of football boots and the sale of LFA branded footballs at discounted prices, with all proceeds being reinvested as subsidies to further fuel football development across the country.
