Lobstar teams up with Echoled

Who is Echoled, someone may ask. Well, Echoled is an afroswing artiste who came onto scene following the success of his 2025 kadongo kamu inspired hit, Mangadalena, in which he talks about a big-bummed woman who caused his separation from his wife.

The singer has really been an underground artiste just like many of his peers including Kyle Ssimbwa, Jiran Seyn, Nuel Murungi, among others. Many people speculate that Echoled’s recent signing with Lobster is the latter’s way of getting back at Joshua Baraka, who recently dropped Lobster off his management team.

Baraka has often credited his musical success to Lobster, who discovered him and his unique style, and catapulted his career to international levels; however, he refused to renew with Lobster when their contract expired and he now remains under UK-based record label, Moves Recordings.

So, will Echoled and Lobster give us a second Ugandan international artiste? No one can tell, despite Echoled’s talent and Lobster’s contacts.

Because, one may argue that Baraka’s sound is more appealing internationally compared to that of Echoled, and Baraka uses a lot of English in his music, compared to Echoled, whose poetry is mostly in Luganda.

Also one may claim that it was just Baraka’s time and luck, but well, I can’t wait for Echoled’s new work under Lob’s management.
